The pain-point form
The data controller is CloudSprint (Pty) Ltd. We handle your data under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
What we keep
What you type into the form: your pain point, name, email address, and, if you give them, your business name, role, business size, website and social media handle. If you use the assistant that helps you put your pain point into words, we also keep that conversation, your first description, and a two-sentence note on what your website says your business does. We also keep the time you sent it, the partner and campaign named in the link you used (for example ?p=bss), and your country as reported by Cloudflare.
Your IP address is not stored. It is held in memory for up to an hour to stop the form being flooded, and then forgotten. The form sets no cookies.
Why
To read your pain point and reply to you, and to learn from what businesses tell us so we can improve our services. When we use what you wrote for that second purpose, for example in our own notes on common problems, we leave out your name, your business name and your contact details. The basis for both is the consent you give by ticking the box, and you can withdraw it at any time.
Who sees it
- CloudSprint's founders. A founder reads every submission and approves every reply before it is sent. Nothing is sent automatically. To improve how we draft, we compare our first drafts with the replies we actually sent; anything that leaves this service for that purpose has your name, email and business name removed.
- The partner named in the consent box, if you reached the form through their link (for example BSS, if the box names BSS). We may share your submission and our reply with them. Without a partner in the box, nobody outside CloudSprint sees it.
- Anthropic, which provides the AI model we use. If you use the assistant, what you type is sent to it as you go, and it reads your website's public pages once (only the address you gave). When a founder asks for a draft reply, your submission is sent to it too. Anthropic processes it in the United States and, under its commercial terms, does not train its models on it.
- Our mail provider, a hosting company in South Africa, which carries our reply to you by email and keeps a copy in the founder's mailbox.
- Google Cloud and Cloudflare, which host the form and store the data for us.
We do not sell your data, and we do not add you to a mailing list.
Where
Your submission is stored on Google Cloud in London, in the United Kingdom. That is outside South Africa: the UK has data protection law that gives your information a similar level of protection, and the draft step means the text also goes to Anthropic in the United States, which you agree to by ticking the box.
How long
Up to 24 months, then it is deleted automatically. Ask us and we delete it sooner.
Your rights
To see, correct or delete your data, or to withdraw your consent, email hello@cloudsprint.co.za. You can also complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa) (inforegulator.org.za).
